Frequently Asked Q's
Will I be able to sit test products?
As your shopping list features retail products, we’ll recommend 1-3 upholstered pieces at a store near you, typically within the William Sonoma brand as clients are most familiar with that. These key pieces within this format will allow you to go sit test on the product before purchasing. If you find an item you like while in the store that’s not on your shopping, you’ll simply follow the guidelines of your shopping list to drive the decision.
Do you pass along designer discounts?
The purchasing of goods, regardless of the source, requires significant time on our part. The hourly charges for that time far outweigh the discount you would save and therefore we do not pass along any designer discounts. We do identify any upcoming sales or products currently discounted on your shopping list so you know which items to purchase and when. As the shopping is yours forever, you’re welcome to hold off purchasing goods until sales such as black Friday, Labor Day, etc.
Can we keep existing items in the design?
How long do projects normally take?
Our shopping list services have a quick around time so you can expect to receive your first version within 2 weeks of your onboarding. With time for revisions and follow-up, the whole process takes 4 weeks.
How are purchases for the project handled?
This service does not include any purchasing assistance from your design team so you’ll be responsible for all purchases, including returns/exchanges and communicating directly with the vendor. We simply provide the design and the footprint.
How do I know the full cost including furnishings?
As all products are sourced via retail and you have flexibility with purchasing, we don’t design around budgeting parameters. However, we continue to make smart investments for you and your family. What that means is we won’t source $1,000 lamps when you have a young child but we will look for performance fabrics with upholstered pieces. You’re always welcome to purchase pieces as your own budgeting allows.
