A New Canaan Home, Reimagined

Some homes carry more than their architecture. They carry a family’s history.

This New Canaan home has been in the same family for three generations, and our work wasn’t about starting over. It was about reimagining the house for the way the next generation wanted to live in it while preserving the sense of permanence that made it worth keeping.

We approached the project as a whole-home transformation, completely reworking the home from the architecture forward. A new addition created the space for a proper primary suite, while the existing home was reconsidered through new layouts, architectural details, millwork, lighting, materials, finishes, and furnishings.

Rather than treating the addition and original house as two separate pieces, every decision was made with the entire home in mind. The result is a house that functions for this chapter of the family’s life while still feeling connected to the generations that came before it.
